About the practice
Spencer Street is an urban practice based in renovated premises in the centre of Carlisle, with a branch surgery in the south of the city. We have a list size of over 11,000. Patients live mainly in the city centre with some living in the surrounding villages.
We are a seven partner practice with two approved trainers and the other partners committed to in-practice teaching. Particular interests include Ophthalmology, dermatology, diabetes, minor surgery, women's health, sexual health, contraception, child health and sigmoidoscopy.
The primary health care team is excellent and includes our practice nurse team who run chronic disease management clinics. Trust staff work from the practice on a regular basis, including counsellors, dietician and chiropodist.
Computerised, (InPS Vision) paperlight practice.
Out of hours cover is provided from CHoC (Cumbria Health on Call) with some of the partners continuing to do sessions.
Clinical staff have educational meetings fortnightly with monthly educational meetings for the whole practice team.
