About the practice

The Practice of 14,800 is mainly urban with a fair sprinkling of rural patients. The modern surgery premises provide excellent facilities for both patients and the practice team, within easy reach of the City centre. The Practice has also opened a new fully equipped branch surgery in the southern part of the town. The work is mainly National Health Service but also includes providing Forensic Medical Examiner Services for the area.  In addition to the Partners in the Practice we have four Associate doctors.

Dr Neil MargerisonThe Practice employs a full complement of ancillary staff, including a Counsellor. The Practice runs Ante-Natal, Diabetic, Child Health Surveillance, Asthma, Sigmoidoscopy and Drug Addiction Clinics. There is weekly input from a dietician and we have an ESP Physiotherapist based at the Practice and the ancillary team includes 6 Practice Nurses and two HCA's.

The Practice has three doctors undertaking GPwSI clinics, one in Ophthalmology, one in ENT as well as one in extended community surgery including vasectomies and lumps and bumps run by two of the Partners and one Associate.

Dr H LawrenceWe are fully computerised with Vision (InPS) system and are a paperlite Practice.  We hold regular weekly in-practice educational meetings and business meetings to which the Registrar is welcome. In addition to training GPs, the Practice is involved in teaching 3rd year medical students. Many of the partners continue to work shifts for Cuedoc, the local out of hours cooperative.
