About the practice

We are a 3.5 WTE partner practice with 5900 patients. We cover a large area partly within the Northumberland National Park, and centered on the small town of Haltwhistle, with a mixed rural and semirural population.

We work from a PCT-owned health centre, which also houses other members of our Primary care team. There are outreach clinics here in ophthalmology, psychiatry and substance misuse. We are fully computerised and paper light using the EMIS system. Our Quality and Outcome scores have been near maximal.

We provide medical care to Haltwhistle Community Hospital, and are Civilian Medical Practitioners at RAF Spadeadam. Out of hours services are provided by NDUC. Secondary care links are mainly to Hexham, with a significant minority of patients going to Carlisle.

We aim to provide registrars with a supportive yet stimulating educational environment.
