About the practice

This is a rural dispensing Practice covering an area of 13 miles in radius from Keswick in the centre of England's Lakeland. There is a Practice population of approximately 6,000.

We practice from purpose built premises. There are regular Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetic and Asthmatic and Young Person Clinics. The Practice has strong links with the 14 bed Cottage Hospital which we share with the other Practice in the town.

The Cottage Hospital not only has facilities for admitting patients, but also has a busy GP run Minor Injuries Department. Local Urologist, Orthopaedic Surgeon, ENT Surgeon, Ophthalmologist, and Paediatrician hold Out-Patient Clinics and the Consultant in Medicine for the Elderly attends the Day Hospital

In addition to the full time GPR placement at the practice, there is an arrangement during the period from Febuary to October, whereby the GPR attached to Glenridding Practice is seconded for 2 days a week for clinical experience.
